I had my students create speaking avatars like the one below as a way to do book reports, share classroom information to parents via a free website like this weebly site. A lot of students have created their own websites by using the weebly website. Using the voki is another way that you can get reluctant writers to publish their work. A student might not have the coordination to type or write but he/she can use voki to have the avatar do the speaking.
